This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for Meier Engineering Research (MER); MER’s licensees; and our website; https://juicebox.org/. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website, except where stated otherwise. It will notify you of the following:

  • With whom it is shared;
  • How it can be corrected;
  • How it is secured;
  • How policy changes will be communicated; and
  • How to address concerns over misuse of personal data.
 

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, other direct contact from you, and information you authorize to provide from your LinkedIn account, specifically:

  • your name, photo, headline, and current positions
  • the primary email address associated with your LinkedIn account
  • the URL for your LinkedIn account

We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

 

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to provide you information about JuiceBox, ask you about your interests and reasons for using JuiceBox, or notify you of changes to this privacy policy.

 

Your Access to and Control Over Information  You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number provided on our website:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.

    Registration

    In order to use this website, a user must first provide your LinkedIn authentication credentials and allow access to your LinkedIn account information identified above. This information is used to monitor JuiceBox access as a security measure and to contact you about the products/services on our site. Planning Data  Your use of JuiceBox generates data that informs energy planning scenarios for simulation in JuiceBox. Planning data may be private or shared. We do not monitor or otherwise use your private planning data.

    Sharing

    JuiceBox enables you to share planning scenarios with private groups that are comprised of other JuiceBox members.

    JuiceBox enables you to publish planning scenarios as world readable, making them accessible to any JuiceBox user.

    Unless you opt out under your account preferences (click on your name in the menu bar), we may include your LinkedIn page URL to identify you as the author of your shared planning scenarios.

    Your sharing of planning information is voluntary. However, your shared plans may be interconnected such that they are necessary for other group members to solve their planning scenarios. Therefore, if you elect to delete your JuiceBox account we will only remove plans that are not group-shared.

    Security

    We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. That information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon on your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

    While we use encryption to protect information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (e.g. JuiceBox database management) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

    Cookies

    A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive. LinkedIn uses "cookies" that are activated when logging in to our site through the LinkedIn API. We have no access to or control over these cookies.

    We use cookies to identify you as a repeat visitor to our site, to remember and indicate your name, to keep track of whether you have agreed to the terms of use, to remember your application preferences. With these cookies, your web browser may identify you as a repeat visitor to our site and you do not have to log in with a password more than once. To prevent your web browser from automatically logging you in to our site, use the Log Out function under your account menu (click on your name in the menu bar). Follow the prompt to also log out of LinkedIn.

    Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.
